William Croft was a composer for Queen Anne and was considered one of the finest English musicians of his time. He received his Doctor of Music degree from Oxford University in 1713. He was the organist of the Church of St. Anne in Soho, London, during the reign of Queen Anne. He also wrote instrumental works.
