Despite some debate, most hymnals attribute the tune of "The Lord's My Shepherd" to Jessie Seymour Irvine. She was born in 1836, the daughter of a parish minister who served at Dunottar, Peterhead, and Crimond-the town after which the hymn tune was named. The actual composer is still questioned by some, and some credit David Grant as the writer of the tune CRIMOMD.
