In 1921, "Infant Holy, Infant Lowly" was translated from Polish by Edith M. Reed. Reed attended St. Leonard's School in St. Andrew's, as well as the Guildhall School of Music in London.
While she worked as an associate of the Royal College of Organists, Reed edited Music and Youth (also known as Piano Student) and The Musical Student. From 1923 to 1926 she also served as editor of Panpipes, a music magazine for children.
